To upload through your Dashboard, select “Appearance” and then “Themes”. Next, select the “Install Themes” tab at the top of the page and then select the “Upload” link, right above the search field. Choose your file and select “Install Now”. Once the theme is fully uploaded and installed, click “Activate” to activate the WordPress theme.
The theme files will be stored on your server in the wp-content/themes location.
When uploading your theme with the installer, please ensure you are uploading the theme .zip file, not the entire package you downloaded. In this case, you will be uploading enso-rei.zip.
FTP UploadTo manually upload your new WordPress theme, login with your credentials to your website and locate the wp-content folder in your WordPress install files. Upload the un-zipped Enso Rei folder into the: wp-content/themes folder. Once uploaded, activate the theme by heading to the “Themes” menu in the WordPress Dashboard. Locate the Enso Rei theme and hit “Activate”.
Import Demo Content
- Go to Tools → Import.
- Choose “WordPress” from the list.
- Upload the demo-content.xml (right click save as) using the form provided on that page.
- You will be asked to map the authors in this export file to users on the blog. For each author, you may choose to map to an existing user on the blog or to create a new user.
- You will then have the choice to import attachments, so click on the “Download and import file attachments” box.
- Posts, Pages, Projects, and Menus are imported. You will need assign the menu a theme location & you’ll need to configure widgets.
In order to properly set the theme as in demo please create two blank pages with title Home and Blog then go to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Reading Settings and set this accordingly (Homepage to Home and Posts page to Blog page) as shown in image bellow.
You will also have to set widgets and custom page category sections manually. It should take less than 5 minutes to have setup identical to our demo.
Custom Page Setup
Enso Rei is using ACF | Advanced Custom Fields Plugin to organize and create custom pages. There are several already made sections that you can use to create a new page. If you take a look at our demo homepage you will see how we organized our sections, but you can create unlimited number of layouts using this method. Go to Edit > Page and bellow the content area you will see option to add sections.
As explained in the demo setup above you will have to set custom page category sections manually.
Post Layout Templates
Enso Rei supports 3 post layout templates: Standard, Side by side and Below title. Changing your post’s layout is easy and can be done for each individual post, on the Edit Post page, under the main Gutenberg document sidebar.
Gallery Post Format
Enso Rei has beautiful gallery post format can be used as section for custom pages (as explained above in section about Custom Page Setup). It will also add beautiful photo slider to your post (no additional plugins required). To enable gallery format go to Edit > Post and in the right document sidebar you can choose format of the post as shown in the image bellow. Once you save the post as gallery then new gallery section will be added at the end of the post where you can add your images. Note: You might have to reload post page once saved to see the media gallery in the Gutenberg editor.
On occasions WordPress Gutenberg editor will require you to save the post as gallery format and reload the page before showing option to add media to the gallery.
To access the Customizer you can either click on customize link on any page/post or from WordPress control panel, go to Appearance → Customize.
